Folk Art Road Show
September 23rd from
12:00 noon to 3:00PM

The popularity of television programs like Antiques Road Show has sparked an enormous interest in the history and value of family heirlooms and collectibles. Building on this enthusiasm, the Arts Center of Cannon County offers its first annual Folk Art Road Show. Residents are encouraged to bring items in the following three categories to the Arts Center on Saturday, September 23 from 12 noon – 3:00PM.
1. Local White Oak Baskets
2. Regional Pottery
3. Tennessee Samplers
Sampler experts Jennifer Core and Janet Hasson, independent appraiser Sarah Campbell Drury, antiques dealer David Duggin, Arts Center Executive Director Donald Fann, and Arts Center Folklorist Evan Hatch will identify folk art pieces in the previously listed categories and offer non certified appraisals of their value. The event is free and open to the public. Scour your attic, basement or art collection for your outstanding works of folk art and bring them down for appraisal day at the Arts Center.

Located at 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of the town of Woodbury, the Arts Center of Cannon County is approximately 20 minutes from Murfreesboro, Manchester, and McMinnville and one hour southeast of Nashville. Office hours are 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information call (615) 563-2787 or 1-800-235-9073.
