In association with The Arts Center of Cannon County

The Appalachian Life Workshops offer a series of hands-on workshops teaching traditional crafts and skills that were developed and practiced by early settlers throughout the Appalachian region. The 1-5 day workshops cover the nearly lost skills of basketmaking, chairmaking, hand hewing dough bowls, spoon carving, and harvesting and weaving hickory bark. Each craft is taught with a few simple hand tools and participants take home an item they make themselves.

These classes are held at Appalachian Life Workshops in Readyville, TN in association with The Arts Center of Cannon County.

To make reservations or for more information, please call Evan at 615-563-(ARTS) 2787 or 1-800-235-9073 or Alan Daigre at 615-409-6072.
