SCULPTURE COMPETITION

Chinkapin Craftstead, with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission and the Arts Center of Cannon County, announces a Call for Submissions for a public
art installation.
MISSION & BACKGROUND
“Interacting with Art: Animals & Nature” aims to connect the natural world with art through the creation of a new work inspired by and/or depicting regional animals/plants/fungi/geology. The project hopes to engage both children and adults by creating a playful work that invites direct interaction that activates its location.
This is the fourth in a five-year plan to install one new sculpture per year in a rural environment. Chinkapin’s funding towards this current project is part of its commitment to support the creation of new artwork and bring more art into a rural community.
