White Oak Tennessee and The Arts Center of Cannon County are pleased to announce an open call for artists for a group art show in our newly-painted Cannon Hall from July 22 through September 9, 2026, with an artist reception on August 7 from 6-8pm.

This summer’s exhibition, True-ish Stories, invites artists to explore the space where memory, imagination, and experience meet. We are drawn to the stories that grow richer with time, to the moments that feel larger than life, and to the quiet journeys that shape us.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly. Works may reflect nostalgia, tall tales, adventure, personal history, folklore, etc. Interpretations may be literal or abstract. We welcome all thoughtful responses to the theme. You will have the option to display a paragraph about the displayed work, if you would like to elaborate on your own true-ish story.

Submissions are open to artists of all ages and experience levels
. We hope to see a wide range of media, including painting, photography, collage, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, woodworking, fiber arts, and more.
